Two Years.

Of marriage, that is.

I can't believe two years ago today I said "I Do" on a beautiful, sunny April afternoon.
Right now it's 25 degrees with a chance of snow.
What the hell is that?

To say that these two years "flew by" would be a lie.

We savored every moment....

.....as we have done since we fell in love 5 wonderful years ago.

Year two of marriage wasn't all rainbows & butterflies.
The fights get a little deeper and take a little longer to resolve.
There were sleepless nights.
And yes, a few slamming doors.

But I wouldn't trade any moment of this past year, fights and all

....because I'd rather fight with this guy than be with anyone else.

Year two started with the second best decision I've ever made,
second only to marrying you of course.
Getting a breast reduction.
Something I never would've had the courage to do without YOU

Not many men would love their ladies to get their tata's cut off....all while wearing
a Hooter's shirt saying "Goodbye Hooters."
But you, my love, didn't bat an eye.

On a "lighter note" (pun totally intended), we enjoyed an AMAZING year of concerts.

Justin Moore, Miranda Lambert & Eric Church to name a few.

I'll never forget the night of the Eric Church concert this past fall!
It was your birthday weekend and for your present, I surprised you with this....

When I look back over the year, the moment we'll always treasure
was the day we signed the papers on our very first home.

And well, apparently we couldn't just stop at a house.

We added a green machine to the family as well.

And more recently, an 'ol boat.

We cruised across the Caribbean.

We trekked across Jamaica.

Horseback rode on the coast of Grand Cayman Island.

And kayaked in Mexico.

But none of these things compare to the joy that our family experienced
when these 3 little ones made their debut!

Wyatt Frank

Charlotte Ann

Emmett Alexander

Who knows what year three will bring us....maybe our own little one?
;)

I do know one thing that's for certain.
As I look over the past year in pictures, I realized something....

I love you more today, Mr. Flintstone, than I ever have before.

You really are my sunshine.

Happy Anniversary!

Baby Love

This weekend was full of lots of excitement & lots of baby love. For all you newbies around here, every sibling (including in laws) had babies last year. My sister in law had her first in June, my older brother had a third in October & my other older brother had his first son in November.

Needless to say, there's lots of baby action around these parts, not including my husband and I.

At least not yet...........

This little bug, I want to put her in my pocket and take her home with me. Until she has explosive diarrhea all over herself.

He's a natural, ain't he?

Wyatt got dedicated Sunday evening. Is he not a handsome little dude? I mean, c'mon.
Those baby blues!!

And we can't forget our little babe.

And to top the weekend off....we have some other BIG news to share.

No Ma, I'm not pregnant.

We signed the lease on our very own booth at our local antique mall!!
We're taking our show on the road and we are pumped.

We have been talking for monthsssss about doing this.
Saturday came, and  SURPRISE , we found ourselves at the antique  mall. The  owner happened to be there and a 15 minute conversation later, we pulled the trigger.

I know I said I was taking a shopping sabbatical, so instead of clothes I bought an antique booth.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
I flew into Providence, Rhode Island this morning however, I'll be working the whole time.
Wah. Wah.

Business trips. They're a total tease.  It's like vacation but with
no vacation action happening.
Kind of like getting felt up...over the bra.

Oh well.
At least The Hilton beds are nice.

Thai, Wine & Tools....Oh My!

Holy Birthay Batman.  I'm worn out from the marathon celebration, Lord knows how my poor husband must feel.

Last night he made us some Lobster tails & when I tried to give him the bigger one he refused to take it because it was (albeit the end) still my "Birthday Week."  Poor guy.
He's going to need birthday rehab to recover from the past 7 days.

He was a two time breakfast in bed chef....

Homemade Heart Shaped Glazed AND Filled Doughnuts
Heart felt gift giver, A fantastic dinner date three nights in a row & and he became a wine guzzler connoisseur Saturday afternoon at the winery in which he polished off his first bottle of wine,
ALL on his own. My babies all grown up.
 Dang I love that kid.

But I gotta say, he didn't come out empty handed.  He's a big time Justin Moore fan so I surprised him with tickets to the Outlaw Tour coming to Kansas City in March.

I just love this picture of Jon when he was a little tot!

Added the text with my iPhone app, got it printed & made it into a card.
Needless to say, he was pretty stoked.
In fact he requested we have the card up on display in our living room.
And it's still there, 5 days later.

We wrapped up Valentines Day with a heart shaped pizza that I burnt the hell out of, then the Birthday festivities began!

Carnival wished me a Happy Birthday...but no free cruise?
Cheap asses.
I mean, their boat broke down in the Gulf of Mexico.  The least they could do is give free cruises to all of America.  Side note, did anyone else think some of those passengers on the stranded ship were being a little dramatic about the whole ordeal? They complained that Carnival opened the bar up while stranded at sea.  C'mon folks.  If I was stranded at sea and had to urinate in a bag, the least they could do would be to provide free booze.

Moving on.

We had a WONDERFUL dinner Friday night with both sets of parents at
Jon & I's favorite local Thai Place.
It truly filled my heart to have everyone there to celebrate with!

Top the evening off with my own set of pink tools.  Double score.

Saturday morning we took off to Excelsior Springs, the town where
we got married a couple years ago.
I still get butterflies pulling up to the resort.

We got checked in & took off to their quaint little downtown strip to enjoy the afternoon.

We spent the last few afternoon hours at The Mercantile Winery where had our rehearsal dinner. The owner, Daphne is always so gracious to us when we show up....big hugs & all.
Reason #78690 why I'm so thankful we wed in such a small town.

And for the record, if we were pregnant, I SO would've bought that Vino Bambino Onesie.
Or did I?
But I did score this little beauty.  A wreath filled with wine corks.
Hell to the yes.

After we had polished off a couple bottles of wine, we headed back to The Elms for some
Hottie Toddies & Hot Tub Time.

Only to end the day with a little stroll down to the Gazebo where our ceremony was held.
Cue Goosebumps
Everytime.

And yes, I definitely played Train's Marry Me on my iPhone while strolling down the sidewalk aisle.

Yes folks, if you're new around here, I am THAT cheesy.

We capped off the weekend with roomservice in bed before hitting the road back home.

It was a weekend for the books & If you're still here....thanks for sticking around for me to share it with you.

I took today off work to blog recover.
(THANK YOU JESUS)

Hope everyone is having a fantastic start to their week!

Linking up with Sami for her weekend wrap up!

That time we moved our bed into the closet.

What. A. Weekend.

If you couldn't tell by my Instagram pics Saturday afternoon, we enjoyed ourselves.  But I promise, our weekend wasn't all play.

We've been working on our master bedroom "project" for the past month or so & I'm happy to say, we finally, finally  got 'er finished up.  But not without a few wrenches. Isn't that how all DIY's go?

When we bought the house, we knew we wanted to take on this project early on. As some know, Jon built me a dressing room attached to our master bedroom....

....so there was no need for the measly old closet in our actual bedroom.

So, why not move our bed into it?

First we had to remove the shelving & rod.

Then we had to mud & sand it down.

And mind you, in these photos it looks like Jon is doing all the work, but this photo was totally staged.  I promise. I sanded the ENTIRE wall myself.  And then had to scrub every frickin' inch of the bedroom because that crap gets everywhere!  I took a pic of the headboard just to prove it.

After we got 'er all sanded down, time to bust out the paint.  I wanted to paint the closet to match the darker trim & baseboards surrounding it.  Instead of taking a wood sample with me to select the paint color, I decided to "eyeball" it.

Bad idea.  Very bad idea.
It turned out super red, so we ended up having to paint the entire space.

Twice.

We installed a new light fixture with a dimmer switch.

The dimmer allows for a nice ambiance in the room & I just love it.
Who knew a dimmer could be so  romantic? ;)

Then off to Etsy I went in search of the perfect monogram to hang above our bed.

I swear I must've looked at over 100 different fonts...GOOD LORD.  I had no idea there were that many to frickin' choose from!!

I finally found one I fell in love with, ordered that sucker & as soon as we got it up on the wall we realized the sucker didn't stick to the paint we used on the wall.

Awesome.  Just awesome.

So we beat the system.  We hand painted that sucker.  She ain't goin' nowhere now.

I'm exhausted just thinking about it.  But hey, it was worth it.

Hope you all had an amazing  weekend, not involving hand painting a monogram on your wall.

Linking up with Carly & Molly .  And you should too.

And as always, Sami & Leeann.  Thanks ladies for hosting one of my favorite link ups week after week!

Tootles! And please, say a prayer for me to make it thru this Monday.

Ugghh.
