Well, hello there relaxation.

This. weekend. was. delicious.

Jon & I had ZERO plans and it. was. glorius.

But definitely doesn't make for an exciting post full of photos.  My apologies.

Friday night we stayed in & ate pizza....the exact same way we ended our Sunday.  Pizza goin' into the weekend and pizza goin' out.

Don't judge.

At least I ran off SOME of the pizza calories Saturday morning.

Saturday night was full of vino, food, bourbon & more food.  Aka:  Xenos Date Night.

Hey, the local saloon had happy hour from 9-10:00 pm.  $2.50 everything.

We had to take full advantage.

Sunday morning I got all house-wifey on Jon's ass & made breakfast for two...

Or three.

Breakfast was followed by....

And then play time.

All in all.

Great weekend full of great pizza.

I hope your weekends were just as glorius.

Of course I'm linking up with the fabulous girls for their weekly link-up.

Looking forward to perusing around blog land to see what all of you beauties were up to as well!

And in closing, can I just say...these next 48 hours are going. to. be. torturous.

Closing Day:  Wednesday.

Get. here. now.

Seattle. You Hold My Heart.

And by heart, I mean Tara.

Words do not describe my excitement to be reunited with my homegirl, my bia, my best fraaand, my other half, the third to our 3 amigos, my soulmate....ONE week from today.

Next Friday evening my plane will be landing in the BEAUTIFUL city of Seattle.  I know I have some Seattle readers out there & this girl will be coming to a city near you in 7 short days.

Tara moved out to Seattle last June, fell in love, got engaged to a wonderful man...

...and recently moved out of the city hub to Bainbridge Island.

Only the cutest frickin' island in the universe.

We all fell in love with Bainbridge when she took us on a fucking crazy ass biking marathon
nice little biking wine tour last fall.

We ended up biking like 40 miles in the 20 degree rainstorm that is Seattle in November.
But hey, at least I had my cognac riding boots on.

Hey.  We do anything for wine.

Just like I'd do anything for THESE girls.

We've had our ups & downs.

Been there for eachtoher thru amazing but sometimes hard life changes including
engagements, weddings & saying goodbye at airports.

But thru it all, we grow closer and closer every year that passes.  Even with 2,000 miles between us.

No one says it better than Ms. Carrie Bradshaw.

"And there, in the same city where they met as girls, four New York Kansas City women entered the next phase of their
lives dressed head to toe in love.
And that's the one label that never goes out of style."

Chevron. Chevron. Chevron.

Ok.  I've been keeping a secret from you all.  Kind of a big one.

We are CLOSING ON OUR LAKE HOUSE in one week.  Yes, one week from today. August 29th.

I know I told you awhile back that we were looking and that we fell in love with this one....but I know that SO many things can go wrong, so didn't want to spill the beans until things were set in stone.

August 29th.  We'll have keys and a beer in hand and sitting on our new patio enjoying this view....

Needless to say, I have fallen back in love with Pinterest.
So what better bandwagon to jump on today....

Since our little living room is the heart of the house, i've been trying to decide what prints & colors will make this space really come alive.  And by alive I mean, cottagy--funky--trendy--cozy--& most of all, fun.

Aka:  Chevron.

I'm just loving these rustic hues of Chevron....LOVING THEM.

I'm thinking they will look super charming complimented with our dark red brick fireplace.

Eeeekk.

Can't wait.

Have you all caught the Chevron bug as well??

Why I LOVE Weddings.

There is just something SO romantic about watching friends exchange vows & commit their lives to one another!

Yes, I am THAT girl that tears up in every wedding I go to.

It could be a complete stranger.  I mean, it could be Obama & I'd be the creep in the corner with mascara running down my face.  Hey, I'll own it.

I just LOVE weddings!

This past weekend we got to witness one of my DEAR friends & TriDelta sister say "I Do!"

And boy did we celebrate.

And you know me, I have a photo to prove it.

Don't tell my husband this is on the internet.

I mean, when I'm reunited with these girls....

I just can't help myself.

How about you all...how was YOUR weekend?

Link up with these three beauties (DanaSami & Leeann) & tell us about it!

Romance.

If I had to choose one word to describe our past weekend....I would choose romantic.  There's something about the nostalgia that comes from re-visiting that site where your marriage began.  As much excitement as I felt, I underestimated how truely romantic the weekend would be.  Not to get all sappy on you all, but what I love most about my husband is that I absolutely love just chillin' with him, you know?  Having an afternoon beer....or two, or three, or.....

I just love hanging out with the guy.

However, in enlarging this pic...what is up with that creeper mustache he has going on? I just noticed that.  I may have to have a talking to about that this evening....

When we arrived Friday evening, I just couldn't wait to get inside the resort to see the remodeling they had done.  Luckily, they left all the special stuff just as I remembered it!  But the rooms...they were just GORGEOUSLY redone.

We headed out that evening to enjoy the downtown strip for Excelsior's monthly "Second Fridays" party, which basically consists of the little shops staying open later than usual and a live band on the strip.

Blue Raddish was my FAVORITE stop.  Hello, they serve free Blue Margaritas to their shoppers.  Jon & I thought they were pretty weak at first...and then 20 minutes later, a nice little blue buzz hit us.

We had a nice dinner that evening at our favorite italian restaurant called Ventana Grill.  You're supposed to load up on carbs the night before your race.  And believe me.  I took FULL advantage.

And I know I didn't mention it beforehand...but I had another race Saturday morning.  Because it was "Pet Retreat" weekend at The Elms, there was a little 5k race to raise money for the local shelter.  Hello...sign me up!

I didn't tell you ahead of time as I was worried I'd get into the wine and not actually run it.  But apparently the blue margs, 2 glasses of wine and night cap of Jim Beam helped this sistah out.

I finished it in 29 minutes 50 seconds.

I did had a great cheer squad.  Jon & Belle.

Best cheerleaders ever.

Before heading downtown to celebrate, we decided to enjoy some of the "Pet Retreat" events including a doggie kissing contest.

We totally should have won.

Assholes.

We were up against some fierce competition.  And I'm not fully convinced that this dog is actually alive.

Creepy????  I think so.  We were out of our league with these pet enthusiasts.  I mean, listen.  I love my dog but I don't like to MAKE OUT with my dog.

After a fun little photo shoot outside the gazebo where we had our ceremony....back downtown it was!

We sampled some local brews.

Shopped.

Drank wine.

And drunkily kissed on the street.

Then it was back to the resort for our COUPLES MASSAGE!!

They warned us that we'd probably feel more drunk after the massage as they would push the alcohol thru our bloodstream.

And based on the look of my face in the above photo (taken after the massage), i'd say they're correct.

But we decided to have another sangria anyway.

Then we headed upstairs to get ready for a WONDERFUL dinner in the new resort restaurant.

But not before I busted a few dance moves in the ballroom where our reception was held.

Food.  Wine.  Margaritas.  A Race.  More Food.  Dancing.  Shopping.  And Kissing.

Lots of kissing.

The makings of a great weekend.

Have a great weekend everyone!
