Armed & Ready....for some GIRL TIME.

I know I've said this before & I'll say it again....there are not alot of things in life better than an impromptu night out with your 'ol girlfriends.  Throw in some cheesedip & it becomes orgasmic.

Am I right or am I right?

My sorority (DELTA DELTA DELTA baby) sisters & I always get together around the holidays, and it's one of the main things I look forward to this time of year.  We all live fairly close to one another, minus the Montana-ers, Chicagoans & Seattle-ers so we're pretty blessed.  However we don't get together near as much as we should.  But even when several months pass between our get togethers, we reconnect like we saw eachother just the week before.

I love hearing about where everyone is in their lives....doctorate programs, marriage, new relationships blossoming, careers & babies babies babies.  Each of these ladies hold a special place in my heart & for that, I'll always be grateful.

Sistahs 'fo life.

And let me just say, the merlot induced fuzziness I feel today....SO worth it.

Lucky for me, I had just lathered up my nails in a new polish I got for Christmas.
Great mani for girls night & perfect opportunity to link up with my homegirl T-dawg (and her co-host Vicki) for their annual Nail Files link up.

Winning.
I had forgotten how much I love Essie polish.
You can always count on them going on smooth, always looking great & holding up thru rough days.  Like a good husband should be.
:)

Hope you all have a wonderful & relaxing weekend planned!

Date night tonight with Mr. Xenos & our last holiday shin dig at our home Saturday evening, otherwise some much needed R&R.

On a serious note, one of Jon's dear friends that he grew up with passed away over the Christmas holiday.  Only 30 years old.....just heartbreaking.  We are attending his funeral tomorrow morning.  Please keep his family & loved ones in your prayers over these next few days.

There ain't no such thang as TOOO bright

The Nail Files

Shout out to Tara and Vicki for hosting this fab link up week after week!

When it comes to polish, in my book, the brighter the better.

And boy did this polish exemplify that!

I mean, it's called LIGHTENING after all

I have to say, loved the color...but didn't love the quality.
It went in very thick and clumpy!! I shook it and shook it. Made no difference!
I've had great experiences with Sallie Hansen Complete Manicure, but her Insta-Dri line I probably won't purchase again.

Unless you all have some pointers on thinning out the texture?

The Nail Files: NEVER In A New York Minute

The Nail Files

It's Friday homegirls...and mama's ready for a drink party.  Link up party, that is. So grab Tara & Vicki's button & link up ya'all!

Let's just start with saying, DON'T EVER BUY THIS POLISH.

Yes, they are cheap.  Yes, they have cute 'New York City' themed names.  Yes, you may want to fall for how cute their 'New York City' themed names are.

But trust me, you'll regret it.

At first glance, the color is pretty good.  However, no matter how many coats you put on, the color is not NEAR as vibrant as the OPI's, Essie's & Ulta polishes.

Another thing that totally sucked butt about this brand was how watery the polish is.

See. They look like crapola.

Biggest waste of $1.79 ever.  I could've bought a McDonalds sugar free vanilla iced coffee with that money.

Damnit.

The Nail Files

Thanks to Tara at Fabulous but Evil and Vicki at My Vickilicious Life for the great link up idea of "The Nail Files."
Im loving the color I've been sporting called Raspberry Wine. It's part of a new at home gel manicure kit that I'm IN LURRRVE with. These nails are 6 days old and still squeaky shiny! I'll be blogging about it next Thursday for my "Kiss & Makeup Thursday."
Happy Friday & don't forget to come back on Thursday to hear about my fab gel manicure kit. Best fifty bucks I've EVER spent.
