The Nail Files: Top Coat Problems...

The Nail Files

I'm linking up with
Vickiand Tara this week....And
I NEED YOUR HELP!

I am on a mission to find a new top coat that actually KEEPS it's promise to keep my nails glossy & chip free.

Im SO ready to break up with mine, but not until I have another lined up. This top coat has promised me things year after you, but never follows thru.

I'm done.

And I need YOUR help to finally be ready to move on!

On Sunday eve, I did a full mani pedi with my new Essie.

Then I topped it off with the usual...

Seche Vite. I even bought the "restore" that I use by putting a couple drops in my top coat bottle every couple months. Still sucks.
Monday morning I looked down and noticed this!

Ahhhhhh!!!
By Thursday, they looked like this.

NOT acceptable.

So help a blog sistah out and HELP ME FIND A NEW boyfriend TOP COAT!!!

Until then, I gave myself a new mani this morning with...

Looks good now, but we're only 10 minutes in. We'll get in a fight soon.

Love that Expresso color! I really like the Insta-Dry line of nail polish! Makes it easy for me to do my nails really fast!!! :)

:( i've heard good things about essie's topcoat! i use seche vite and it normally makes my nail polish last about 6days!

I like inm out the door a lot, but I'm not sure if it holds up tons better than seche vite.

I honestly think it's all about the base coat. Quite often I don't wear top coats. I rotate between Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength and OPI's Start to FInish. It could also be the quality of the nail polish :/

Sally Hanson even just the strengthener works great. make sure you also go over the very tip of your nail.

I think that the base coat matters a lot- are you using one? I coudln't get my dang nails to stop chipping/peeling until I started using Sally Hansen Insta-Grip base coat (with the red cap.) Then I do a good layer of seche vite and I rarely have any chips until day 6 or 7. Try a new base coat and see if that helps!
