I've also completed my first week of C25K. Woot woot. Technically there's only three sessions the first week, but since I've already been training a few weeks, I ran the day three session a couple times.
My biggest struggle thus far has been the killer shin splints. I've always been prone to the bastards, I don't know why I thought this time would be different.
I made a big mistake in beginning to train in old Nike Shox. What the hell, Anne. Not to mention they are like 7 years old.
Big mistake.
However as of last Sunday, I've been running in these hot mamas.
Hell ya, bitch. That's what I say everytime I put those puppies on.
Now that they've got the 10 miles on 'em, they are feeling even better. I'm so thankful I came across Amber's post about investing in good kicks.
What a tremendous difference that has made!
When I first broke the news to J about wanting to drop some serious $$ on some nice shoes, being the super logical man that he is he says to me, "now babe, when we go to look at some, I want you to choose the ones that feel good. I don't want you picking a pair just because they're cute."(insert Anne groan) "Ugh, ok Jon. Because that's sooo how I am. I'm not stupid, you know."
(Me thinking to myself, damnit, he knows me too well sometimes!)
Well lucky me, I ended up with an amazing pair of kicks that feel amazing as well. Hell ya.
Moral of the story for any of you runners out there: invest the $$. And thank me later.
